Position:  Independent Arbitrator and Mediator since 2004; previously Litigating Partner at Kirkland & Ellis. 
Education:  J.D. University of Michigan Law School; A.B. University of Michigan, Université de Grenoble, France, Fulbright Scholar, 1956-57
ADR Experience: Has served as mediator and as sole arbitrator, chair and member of 3-person panels for AAA, ICDR, CPR, ICC, CIDRA, FINRA and JAMS. Disputes have involved a broad spectrum of matters, including U.S. and international patent, copyright and trademark claims, post-acquisition accounting and tax adjustments, insurance and re-insurance coverage, contract breach, alleged securities fraud, product liability, construction defects, real estate transactions, franchise and distribution rights, and a variety of other commercial, competition and tort issues. Parties have included Dutch, English, French, German, Japanese, Russian, Swiss and U.S. companies.
Teaching Experience: Lecturer in Law at University of Chicago Law School; Adjunct Professor of Law, University of Michigan Law School
Lectures: Numerous speeches and Congressional testimony regarding U.S. and international competition, securities and litigation issues before the American, Federal, Illinois, Texas and Chicago Bar Associations, the Association of General Counsel, the Conference Board, the Corporate Counsel Institute and the Illinois and Massachusetts Institutes of Continuing Legal Education.
Publications: Numerous articles regarding U.S. and international competition, securities and litigation issues.
