Arbitration Achievments: | Mr.
Goldstein began his career in international arbitration as did many
other American litigators of his generation: representing clients before
the Iran-United States Claims Tribunal in the Hague, in cases involving
State expropriation of, or interference with, the investments of U.S.
companies following the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran.
Since that time he has acted as counsel in numerous international
commercial arbitrations. A representative listing of Mr. Goldstein's
international arbitration cases as an advocate follows:1. Canadian
distribution company (client) v. U.S. selling shareholder, ICDR
arbitration re financial aspects of transaction. (2007)

General Experience: | Mr.
Goldstein began his career as a commercial litigator in federal and New
York State courts. Arbitration has overtaken litigation in his practice
only in the past five years. Mr. Goldstein has continued to handle and
try complex cases in the courts throughout his career. His transition to
solo practice has not altered the balance between his work as an
arbitrator and his work as trial lawyer in complex litigations and
arbitrations. His 2007 docket has included cases in the United States
District Courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York, the
Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the District of New Jersey, as
well as several cases as an advocate before international arbitral
tribunals. Where appropriate to serve a client on a large litigation,
Mr. Goldstein will affiliate on a co-counsel basis with major law firms
in New York or elsewhere, to provide clients with the benefit of his
judgment, skill, and experience, together with the human resources and
large-litigation infrastructure available in large law firms. |
Miscellaneous: | Marc
is on the international arbitrator panels of the American Arbitration
Association, the U.S. National Committee of the ICC, and the World
Intellectual Property Organization. During his years in large firm
practice, he was consistently recognized by the Chambers Global Guide
and Euromoney Guide as one of the leading U.S. international arbitration
lawyers. He was admitted in 1993 as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute
of Arbitrators, and won the Chartered Institute's President's Prize for
achievement on its fellowship examination in that year. He is a member
of the International Arbitration Committee of the AAA, the London
International Arbitration Club, and numerous other arbitration community
organizations. |
