Once again, Loyola University Chicago School of Law will be hosting a Willem C. Vis Pre- Moot Competition. We are pleased to invite you volunteer to participate as an arbitrator on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 25 East Pearson Street, Chicago, Illinois. The Pre-Moot is sponsored by the Chicago International Dispute Resolution Association (CIDRA), the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) and Loyola University Chicago School of Law.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Vis Moot, it is an international competition that takes place each year in Vienna, Austria and Hong Kong, China. Schools send teams to make oral arguments at each location based on a fictional international sale of goods transaction governed by the CISG. The Pre-Moot gives students an opportunity to practice their arguments in as close a competition environment as possible.

The schedule includes a light breakfast, two rounds of arguments and a luncheon lasting from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. A bench brief will be provided to the arbitrators in advance of the Pre-Moot.
We are pleased to invite all arbitrators to a welcome reception on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 7-10 p.m. at Rock Bottom Brewery at 1 W. Grand Avenue, Chicago Illinois. This event has been an excellent opportunity for the arbitrators, participants and coaches traveling to us from around the globe to meet prior to the competition.

If you would like more information or would like to volunteer as an arbitrator, please contact Melissa Bocker at [email protected] no later than February 8, 2013.
